Welcome!

Welcome to My Drama Resource!

I have created this blog to be my own Multimodal Resource Journal!

I have created five blog entries for My Drama Resource. Four of these entries are based on ways that drama can be beneficial to me as a teacher. Each of these entries outline useful drama strategies and how they can be implemented in the classroom.

Creating a safe space: I have learned through my experiences in this class that a safe space for students is essential. This section of my blog discusses ways that I can successfully create that space in my classroom.

Cross-Curricular Integration: I have recognized that drama can be integrated with a variety of other subject areas in order to enhance and revitalize lessons. This section of my blog outlines strategies for integrating drama with other subject areas.

Reaching a Variety of Learners: As many of us have learned and experienced, individuals think, interpret and learn in different ways. As a result, teachers must create lessons that appeal to a variety of learners. This section of my blog notes strategies for appealing to a variety of learners using dramatic strategies.

Dealing with Sensitive Issues: As teachers, we will encounter a variety of students throughout our years. Unfortunately, we must deal with the harsh reality that we may have to address sensitive topics with students such as bullying, homelessness, poverty, war, etc. In this section of my blog, I have outlined some unique and helpful strategies that I believe would be beneficial when dealing with touchy subjects.

My Reflection: In this section of my blog, I have written about my personal experiences in this drama class, my growth as a drama teacher and my feelings as I go forward and teach.
